KUKULKÁN TELESCOPE: CONNECTION BETWEEN SCIENCE AND COSMOVISION
The architectural design was conceived as a bridge between ancestral knowledge and the exploration of the future. In the first phase of the OAG project, we developed the concept of the Kukulkán Telescope, a structure inspired by the Mesoamerican cosmovision that symbolizes the connection between the sky, the earth, and the underworld.
This observatory is not just a tool for astronomy but a contemporary representation of the Tzolk'in calendar, integrating principles of kinetics, quantum physics, biology, and archaeology into its spatial conception. Its design evokes the movement of Kukulkán, the feathered serpent, reflecting the transition between dimensions of time and space.
The telescope stands as a point of convergence between scientific research and education, contributing to the study of climate change, the exploration of the cosmos, and the understanding of our cultural heritage. Its structure consists of different levels, each designed to host areas for experimentation, observation, and learning.
With this project, we reaffirm our commitment to architectural innovation and sustainability, creating spaces that transcend their physical function to become symbols of exploration and discovery.
