BXS HOUSE

BXS HOUSE: PILLING BOXES FOR AN OPEN-SPACE HOME

This residence, designed for an equestrian club, is conceived as a composition of stacked and shifted volumes, each housing a specific programmatic function. The design embraces an open spatial concept, fostering a seamless connection with the surrounding natural landscape while offering flexibility for social and event-driven uses.

At its core, the house promotes openness—both physically and visually. Expansive glazing dissolves boundaries between interior and exterior spaces, allowing uninterrupted views of the club’s grounds. The strategic stacking of the volumes creates dynamic voids, generating terraces, cantilevers, and shaded outdoor spaces that extend the living experience into nature.

The ground level remains largely open, serving as a fluid gathering space for hosting events. A double-height central atrium enhances spatial continuity, acting as a transition between public and private areas. Elevated volumes house private quarters, ensuring privacy while maintaining a dialogue with the expansive surroundings. Materiality is carefully curated to reinforce the relationship between architecture and landscape, employing natural stone, wood, and exposed concrete to integrate harmoniously with the equestrian environment.

This home is more than a dwelling; it is an architectural statement that celebrates open space, flexibility, and an immediate connection with nature—aligning with the spirit of the equestrian lifestyle.
